When supporting an irregular attendance matter school’s need to be confident they have exhausted all avenues of support before considering legal action. They must not act:
- unreasonably
- irrationally
- disproportionately
- beyond their powers (Ultra Vires)
If irregular attendance remains a matter of concern legal measures may be considered. These can be in the form of Education Supervision Orders, Penalty Notices and / or Prosecution.
