A Whole School Approach sets down a strategy and plan to improve overall attendance, reduce persistent and severe absence.
Overview
- Provides a Whole School Attendance Policy, Strategy and Implementation Plan, aligned to Department for Education (DfE) guidance, ‘Working together to improve school attendance’.
- Ensures all people work in partnership to improve overall attendance, reduce persistent and severe absence (e.g. children, parents, staff, governors, trustees, outside help).
- Defines and distributes responsibilities in the ambition and drive to achieve above national rates for attendance.
- Routinely analyses data to drive and track improvement.
- Ensures the link between pupil wellbeing, mental health, SEND and the need for regular attendance is understood and planned for (i.e. to achieve good educational outcomes for all).
- Secures outside help to support children, young people and families (e.g. through single agency or multi-agency support).
- Ensures synergy with other school policies (e.g. Behaviour, Safeguarding, SEND and Social Inclusion).
Price
Price is dependent upon size and type of school. Prices are charged:
- By an agreed fixed price according to support requirement.
- By day rate according to number of days purchased (e.g. by term, year, set period/duration).
